Propolis is the valuable protective resin of honeybees. The raw material is collected as a resinous substance from buds and barks of various trees and is the processed into propolis by experienced bees. In the beehive, more than 60,000 bees live and work together at around 35 ° C in a confined space – ideal conditions the growth of disease-causing germs. A layer of propolis inside the hive and entry hole helps to prevent microbes from entering the hive, thus ensuring the health and survival of the colony.
